Custom jewelry is a process that unfolds in several steps. At each step, you work closely with our designers and goldsmiths to make sure your custom jewelry project is manifesting exactly as you want it.
The Custom Jewelry Process
Once you have your ideas and drawings, you will meet with our designers to review your project. We will listen to your ideas, review your photos, drawings, or prints, and give you feedback on how to best create your piece in a way that is functional and strong. Quality begins at the very beginning.
1. Gather Your Ideas
Many people have had us make projects inspired by dreams or ideas. Getting these ideas on paper is a big help in starting the process and saving some time. Don’t worry about not being an artist. Even the roughest sketch opens the dialogue to start refining your project. If it helps, we will hand draw a series of sketches for you, like we have done here. Then just pick the one that is closest to your wishes, and we will modify it how you ask, or begin making a wax mold based on the sketch.
2. Review the Wax
When you come in to see the wax for the first time, you will actually get so try on your ring to see how it feels. We will review the stone setting and placement, and discuss how closely it fits your ideas, as well as suggestions for improvements to improve shine, strength and beauty versus durability.
We will then refine the wax, and have you come in for another try. Once it is exactly as you want it, we will cast the gold in whatever metals you have chosen, set the stones, and polish it for your final viewing.
3. Pickup Your Finished Project
You will be thrilled to see your jewelry fully shining and shimmering with beauty. You can try it on to ensure the perfect fit, and we can adjust the size if needed.
We will then recommend an immediate appraisal, so you can protect your investment should it be lost or stolen.
Did you know you can reduce the cost of your custom project by trading in jewelry that you don’t wear or no longer want? We can even use the very same gold in your new piece, breathing life into inherited, family or important jewelry you haven’t worn. Ask for details or make a free appointment to assess your gold.

Got Unused Jewelry?
Can I trade in my old jewelry toward a custom jewelry project?
Absolutely. One of our favorite recommendations is to look at your jewelry collection and review what you have. Often, heirlooms or inherited family pieces sit unused. To preserve the nostalgic value, we suggest you let us use the very same gold in those pieces to make a custom piece that you will actually enjoy wearing. And, you'll receive credit for using your own gold! It's a win-win for you, and a great way to bring your unappreciated jewelry back to life.
